Some tips on how to take good martial arts photos — first, you need to take a bunch of photos with your phone. A professional photographer can get the light, composition and image better (action shots are hard unless you have a flash and quick shutter)….BUT nothing will make your bad stances look good!
YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOLID STUFF.
Some photos we suggest you practice
- basic front stance with punch (versions include: punching a board, holding staff and/or sword, etc)
2. Basic kick (front, side or round) focus on base foot and and kicking foot details
3. Jump Side-Kick — must get hands controlled, trail leg tucked and Toes sideways (ideally with blade of foot leading)
4. Twisted stance with blocks, fans or short swords
5. Partner techniques locks and/or throws
6. Kneeling cut with sword
7. Staff strike down or 14 with intense eyes
8. two person staff sparring
9. two person sword sparring
10. meditation
